Emerge at GalleryW
Curated by GalleryW co-founder and artist Don Wesley, Emerge is an invitational art exhibit that examines the deeper workings of why and how artists push themselves into new territory and new understandings for their respected practices.
This exhibit is an extension of GalleryW's ongoing mission to connect people through art.

"Soul sown, dark, chthonic storage;
surface warmed.
Sol shown, hark, sonic courage;
her face swarmed."

How big of a piece can we submit?
We had 20 artists accept and have 100 linear feet of wall space, with some artists exhibiting freestanding work. Don will work with each artist to ensure we have a tastefully displayed show where each artist's work has appropriate space.
How will our content be presented?
We will have printed placards for each artist's bio (with artist photo), their brief statement, and the challenge and emergence for the exhibited piece. We will look to present these in 8x10 snap frames or similar.
Will our work be on the GalleryW.art website?
Your written content will also accompany the online listing for your art. Once the show concludes, we'll keep up the record of the participating artists, but remove all pricing and availability information, so we have a restful reference for the future. Artists will also have the option to have their work taken off the site after the show completely if they desire.
What is happening during the opening reception?
The opening reception will have people coming and going throughout the day and evening. We'll pause the action to acknowledge who is present at both 4pm and 6pm. Light snacks and beverages will be provided by GalleryW throughout the day.
How will we share our challenges and emergence?
In addition to your write up and presence to discuss with other artists during the opening reception, we will also be facilitating meet-and-greet discussions for artists and guests throughout the two months that the show is up. We'll be asking sub-groups based on personal schedules to come back and have specific days with outside participants (I am actively recruiting writers, critics, and curators right now).
Note: Please feel free to ask any further questions. If it is a question that would benefit others, I'll add it to this running list of FAQs.
